"Do you want to know the secret of Guido’s talent? He has the technique, the taste and the patience to set up extremely sophisticated and perfectly composed concept photos, in meticulously controlled situations. He contributes his own art to that of the artists he loves to photograph, but he is also a master at catching fleeting spontaneous moments. Guido is always ready to step back into the shadow, to capture fleeting instants of laughter, boredom or tears: the unposed humanity on the other side of fame, the random magic of simple things". - Lindsay Kemp

I was a dyed-in-the-wool fan of Kate Bush since day one. You could immediately tell she was one of the one and onlys. Out of step with current trends, with an unprecedented courage in inventing her own world and her own raw and visceral musical style. Her music was demanding, pushing you out of your comfort zone. And it still is. She seemed clearly in the same lineage with Laura Nyro, Janis Joplin, Joni Mitchell and Patti Smith. Groundbreaking women. Trailblazers. Balls of steel. I have had the privilege to collaborate with her for over ten years, a wide swathe of time that covers her boldest albums - The Dreaming, Hounds of Love, The Sensual World and The Red Shoes -, including her film The Line, The Cross & The Curve. She was once branded a “gorgeous enigma,” but to me, Kate has always seemed the most truly genuine person you could ever hope to meet in the music business. I had Kate’s trust and I was admitted in her inner circle thanks to whatever quality she found in my photography. We had a kind of telepathic communication which is rare to come across. We had loads of fun producing images that aimed to reveal some of her true self rather than attempting to contribute to the mythology of a pop icon. It seemed we had found a comfort zone where we could enjoy exploring our potential together; a place where she never felt vulnerable or exposed. In our photo shoots Kate and I kept things simple and direct. Her beauty was breathtaking, her presence unquestionable. She seemed to go through all the motions of a photo shoot stoically, with immense patience and curiosity, expecting for something to happen. For once she was in somebody else’s hands, not in full control. I did my best to sense her moods as they shifted during the long and grueling shoots, both of us always expecting something magic to happen at any time, for any given reason. Now take a deep dive into this treasure trove of familiar and never-seen-before photos. We never thought these images would have any afterlife; they were disposable, fed to the press and occasionally featured on record covers and promotional posters. Today they feel more like a personal, intimate diary of a journey. Sheer moments of pleasure. The Kate Inside is all about this. 'The best thing about a picture is that it never changes, even when the people in it do.' Andy Warhol once said. They are proof that once - even if just for a heartbeat - everything was perfect. We’ve been lucky. - Guido Harari
